Southern Ground Builders is co-owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Matt and Abbie Jenkins. As Nashville natives with over 20+ years in the industry, they are experienced and prepared to make any project become a reality. As newlyweds, they renovated their first home together. Eight years later, they turned their dream into a reality and started Southern Ground Builders. They have since built and renovated countless homes in the Nashville area.
Matt and Abbie are passionate about walking their clients through the construction and design process. They enjoy working side by side and have the same purpose in mind – to cultivate beautiful homes and be an asset to their growing community.
MATT JENKINS, OWNER
Matt has 22 years of building experience in residential and commercial construction. Matt graduated from MTSU with a construction degree in 2008. His passion for walking alongside his clients through the construction process inspired him to open Southern Ground Builders in 2016. Matt thrives on the custom aspect of each home, where he can combine his creativity and expertise to design the home of your dreams. His attention to detail and problem-solving skills are what sets him apart. When Matt isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Abbie, and their three kids, Noah, Sunnie, and Beau. They like to spend their time doing Crossfit, being outdoors, and traveling to the beach.
